Hyperbaric Life Boat

Self-Propelled Hyperbaric Lifeboat (SPHL) is used to rescue divers while they are in saturation diving system as an alternative to the Hyperbaric Rescue Chamber (HRC). DIA has developed safety procedures to keep occupants safe in rough seas near offshore facilities in the event of an emergency.

The procedures were used to design the SPHL TUP Safety Method and LARS Operations training course.

The procedures were carried out in collaboration with the Medical and Scientific division. The Scientific Division has created guidelines for mate between SPHL vehicle and bottom or side of the saturation diving system, including the safe use of LARS. While Medical Division dealt with the management of health emergencies in case of trauma due to collision, intoxication, and management of diving deseas.
