Underwater and Space Scenarios

DIA Scientific Division carries out research on aerospace in an underwater environment, designing codes of practice to keep the working environment safe and to develop appropriate courses for various situations. The studies concern several scenarios, such as human physiological and psychological limits in confined spaces (habitats) or during site exploration by introducing disturbance factors.

To replicate true space enviroment conditions DIA recommends the use of underwater habitats or closed bell diving. Some activities can be carried out through Virtual Reality which is capable of simulating various operational scenarios.

Unlike other bodies, DIA has focused its attention mainly on the health and safety of personnel participating in space missions, considering factors and elements that could damage the mission and pose risks to the crew.
